ForgottenChicago.com’s main goal is “to discover and document little known elements of Chicago’s infrastructure, architecture, neighborhoods and general cityscape, whether existing or historical.” They do a great job on their site and I’ve found so many fun things about Chicago that I never really noticed before.

"This “Y” shaped figure, which represents the three branches of the river as they come together at Wolf Point, can be found on structures and buildings all across the city. While prominent on many municipal buildings and street lighting boxes, it can also often be found interestingly hidden in the facades of older commercial and industrial buildings across the city."

The group does excellently affordable walking tours on Sundays in the city and they do fun presentations at local libraries as well. So if you’re an architecture buff or want to get to know the city’s history a bit more, check ‘em out!

This is a monument to the first Softball game ever played. It's located on the campus of Michael Reese hospital. This totally explains why every company in Chicago has a softball team!
