Thanks to You, Octavarius is the #2 Improv Group!

We discovered last night, on our way home from another fun BattleProv show, that Octavarius is #2 in the Chicago Reader’s Best Improv/Sketch Group category of their “Best of Chicago 2010″ issue (Vol 39 No. 40) . It’s on the news stands now throughout the city of Chicago. Or you can check it out at  ChicagoReader.com.

We were floored when we found out. And we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who voted for us.

The winner of the Improv/Sketch group category was Dominizuelan, and 3rd place was pH Productions. We’ve been in shows with both groups before and both are very deserving of a “Best of” award.

Next year, we’re going for #1! Until then, let’s party.

Song Request: All for Love

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Scott Danielson and Susan Fletcher. Scott, a long time friend and member of the podcast, had the foresight to get a DJ that took requests.
Requesting became so popular that mine was never played. I don’t know how the DJ could turn down a Bryan Adams, [...]

Elephants are Scared of Mice. Don’t Let Matt Castellvi Lie to You

In a recent podcast, Matt Castellvi fervently insisted that elephants are not scared of mice, despite conflicting opinions from Brian and the Myth Busters. Sadly for Matt Castellvi, all the insisting in the world doesn’t change the fact that he’s wrong!
After the podcast went live we got a ton of emails about how wrong Matt [...]

This is the Song that Doesn’t End…

When I was a kid, being annoying was a defense mechanism. When my parents were being too mean, I busted out some classic annoying gags.
One common one was singing “The Song that Doesn’t End” from Lambchop’s Play Along. The lyrics go something like:
This is the song that doesn’t ends.
Yes, it goes on and on my [...]

One Letter Off Wednesday Gets New Features

A few months ago we accidently started a Facebook trend of posting “One Letter Off” clues to the titles of movies. It has turned into a weekly recurring game that anyone can play on their own.
To keep the game growing, Scott Danielson (of podcast and blog post fame) created OneLetterOffWednesday.com. The new website functioned as [...]
