Podcast: Inventions!

On this week’s podcast, we’re talking about inventions. From the day that early man discovered the need for bowls and straws to the day that later man cobbled together the iPhone, our whole society has been built upon inventions. Within this podcast, you’ll find out more nonsense about ourselves, including:

  • Cloud and Marc’s separate attempts to revolutionize the water-moving industry
  • Our fond recollections of AOL keywords and AIM
  • A debate on whether Thomas Edison or Ron Popeil was a better inventor
  • Marc’s slam-poetry voicemail (which, I promise you, is NOT to be missed)

Enjoy, and remember to visit our iTunes page to download our older podcasts onto your iThings!

Afternoon Puppet Grossness: Yeasayer and MGMT

In this edition of Afternoon Puppet Grossness, I bring you two music videos featuring disgusting puppets. Both are from experimental/psychedelic bands whose weirdness should not surprise many who are familiar with their music. The first is the video for Yeasayer’s “Madder Red”. The album, Odd Blood, was released February 8th of this year and the video has only been out for a week:

The second video is brought to you by MGMT. Their latest album, Congratulations, has been out since April 13th. While many have been turned off by the record, I’ve been completely embracing the bizarre sound of it. As far as I can tell, the music video for the title track was just released today. Hope you enjoy it. It’s weird.

How do people find us on Google?

I check our website statistics through Google Analytics almost every weekday. I enjoy trying to see how many hits we’re getting, and from where, in order to constantly improve the site for all of you. Whenever somebody happens upon our site from Google, we get to see what search term allowed that person to find us. It can be really useful for us to know what search terms are getting us lots of views. What I’m about to show you, however, is not useful.

While we can see that, for instance, “Gargamel” has somehow brought 27 viewers to our site, some rather interesting searches have brought individual people to octavarius.com. These are just a sample of terms that have each helped one person find us. I’m not making any of these up.

Podcast: It’s not you…it’s podcast.

Dear viewer and/or listener,
I know the past few months have been really great. We’ve had a lot of fun times, and I wouldn’t trade any of that for the world. I love your parents and all of your family, and I’m glad that they seem to like me. You’ve taken me on some GREAT trips, [...]

Cookie Monster is an ASSHOLE.

Cookie Monster is an asshole.
In particular, he’s an enormous asshole to Prairie Dawn, who for some reason frequently invited him over to her house (or at least to her letter-pedestal.) Observe exhibit A, in which Cookie Monster feigns complete ignorance of the finer differences between a cookie and the letter “E”:

No, Cookie Monster. It doesn’t [...]

Podcast: Back to School

Alright, NERDS. It’s the back to school podcast. Consider my withholding (forgetting) it for two days as the Internet equivalent of not giving you back your textbooks until you’ve given me your lunch money. (OK, so it’s been a hectic week with a new semester of work starting. It’s easy to forget a tiny SD [...]

This is not the Spoonman I was looking for.

For reasons I will for now keep to myself, I did a Youtube search for “Spoonman”. This is one of the results that Youtube gave me. Needless to say, it’s not what I was expecting. Thought I’d share it with you.

Huh?

In lieu of a timely podcast, here are some Will Smith haiku.

SLIGHTLY BAD MONDAY NEWS: I brought the wrong SD card with me today. The one that contains podcast files to be rendered and posted has evidently been left at home. The SD card that I have with me right now, as it turns out, is an old one from a digital camera. Unfortunately this means [...]

Podcast: Neighbors.

What kind of neighbor are you?

The neighbor that brings cupcakes to all of the residents?
The neighbor that has awkward laundry room encounters?
The neighbor that demands to announce their relationship status whenever meeting someone new?
The neighbor that accidentally locks people in the shed with angry bees?

Find out which category we each fall into. Also: Castellvi unfriends [...]
