For those who remember the fantastic Nickelodeon television show “The Adventures of Pete and Pete,” I would like to apologize to you.  I attempted a while back to deliver you all an exclusive interview with Danny Tamberelli of Pete and Pete fame (also “The Mighty Ducks,” “All That”, and of course, “Figure it Out”).  I too was a great fan of the show, and I imagined that many people of my generation would have loved to read about Danny Tamberelli’s (Little Pete) current exploits.

That's him on the left. What a cutie!

It all started a few weeks ago.  Or… well… it actually started in Spring of 2007.  It was then, my sophomore year of college, that I facebook friended Danny.  I really wanted to connect with him on a deep level, but only managed to write on his wall about how he “Rocked on “Pete and Pete!'”

Then, Facebook chat emerged onto facebook, and after seeing him online my senior year, I began trying to talk to him on Facebook chat.  I must have tried a dozen different conversation initiations (including, but not limited to: “Hey!” “I see you’re in a band!” “Does your band ever play in Chicago?” and “So what’s new with Dr. D.?”), but nothing managed to get a response.

Just talk to meeee!

Until the Friday of Memorial Day weekend..  I saw him on facebook chat and asked, “Could I interview you for my comedy website?”  I was shocked when he responded positively and invited me to send him all my questions over facebook message.  We talked a bit about his sketch group and he wished me a happy Memorial Day.  I was sure I was now close, personal friends with Dr. D.

So Now, I had to figure out some sort of interview.  I whipped together a set of questions and sent them off!

But time passed, and I never received a response.  I sent another facebook message gently prodding him, but no luck.  My questions remain unanswered.

So, I have decided to post my questions and the answers that I assume he would give.  NOW!

Hey Daniel (or is it Danny? Dan? Dr. D?) Tamberelli, how are things going? Fine, you know, living off of being previously mildly famous!

Pete and Pete was my favorite show growing up, so I’m gonna go ahead and get the Pete and Pete stuff out of the way at the top. What was that like? How was working on a television show at that age? It was great.  It was an awesome show to be a part of.  Working as a kid was normal, but then again, that’s all I knew.  I’m not one of those kids who lost all his childhood though.  I was still enjoying simple kid pleasures like TV and movies and sports.

Are there any behind the scenes moments or stories that you remember being interesting/funny?  Pretty much every day on set was great.  It was a fun cast and crew of people to work with, and the show was just so ridiculous that you couldn’t help but laugh all the time.

How many drunk people post on your facebook wall concerning “Pete and Pete” a week?  So many that it really isn’t funny or flattering anymore.

Anything else you’d like to share about “Pete and Pete?”  You can buy the seasons now, so do it if you haven’t!

You have done a bunch of stuff, with voicing “Arnold” in “Magic School Bus” to “Tommy” in “The Mighty Ducks,” but what was your favorite movie/TV show to work on and why? The Mighty Ducks was pretty fun.  Often it really was similar to playing hockey with your friends.  I wasn’t the best skater though, TV magic covers that up fortunately! HAR HAR HAR!

What was your least favorite movie/TV show to work on and why? Igby Goes Down.  It just wasn’t the kind of movie I would watch, so… yeah.

Any good stories/gossip from any of those projects?  Not especially, sorry.

Cool, moving on, what have you been up to in the last 5 years? I know you have a band and a sketch group now, tell me about those things and who else is involved (and plug those websites as well).  Yeah, I am in a band called “Jounce.”  We perform mostly out East.  It’s fun.  And yes, I currently have a sketch group with some friends. It’s called Manboobs.  We’ve had some mild Funny or Die success, so that’s pretty cool.

If you could give advice to yourself at age 8, what advice would you give?  Make sure you are a part of D2

What’s your favorite food? Drink? Color? City? Cheeseburgers, Beer, Green, New York

Is there any romance in your near future?  Probably?

Where do you hope to be in 10 years?  Alive, perhaps doing more comedy on TV again.

And lastly, if you ever come to Chicago, and my improv group Octavarius is performing somewhere, would you consider performing a show with Octavarius? Of course.

Thanks!

Seems pretty realistic, huh?  *sigh*
