J.J. Abrams’ Former Lover Announces Sequel

LOS ANGELES — “The first one was so good, he we have to do another,” said Jennifer Gilmore at a press conference on the Paramount lot. “Sure, I’d seen one before, in the seventies, but it got stale and boring. It wasn’t until J.J. came a few years ago that I actually got excited again.” Abrams rebooted Ms. Gilmore in 2009 and his follow up effort has been hotly anticipated ever since the first two-and-a-half-hour epic.

“I’m looking for something I can really sink my teeth into,” said Mr. Abrams in a statement to the press, “I want to roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty.”

J.J. Abrams’ previous work has received rave reviews in his key demographic. Negative feedback came from the elderly who felt it moved too fast, the climax was confusing and there were too many close up shots on people’s faces,

“Just look at what he’s been able to accomplish with his wife!” Gilmore said, “That franchise has already spawned three spinoffs.” Mr. Abrams has tentatively accepted her position, with a big release planned for next summer. But, with so many dates on his calendar, there’s always a chance Mr. Abrams will pull out before he finishes.

Episode 148 is finally here. This one sort of functions as our holiday spectacular; we’ve got regular guest Scott as well as friends of the show Logan and D7, so it’s a big group talking about this week’s theme: adventure. It’s a bittersweet podcast though, because as our ComedySportz run comes to a close we’ve made the decision to make this the LAST regularly-scheduled episode of the podcast. While it may resurface in some form or another at some point in the future, we’ll no longer be recording every Monday. It’s really been a blast interacting with everyone live, and it’s of course been wonderful to hang out with my best friends in front of microphones these past 3 years. Thanks to all of you for your unending support; see you in the future!

Episode 147: Lord of the Christmas

It’s Episode 147 of the podcast, and the gang is talking Lord of the Rings. It was right before our first of three Lord of the Rings holiday shows (the second one is this Sunday), so enjoy! I hear it’s finally starting to snow here in Chicago, so we can FINALLY get into the holiday spirit.

Our schedule was a little wonky for this recording, which is why it’s getting posted on a weird day. On the plus side, tomorrow you’ll get another episode of the podcast on time. On the minus side, we must regretfully announce that with the end of our run at ComedySportz comes an end to the podcast (at least for the foreseeable future). Tomorroe will be our LAST regularly-scheduled episode. It’s our holiday spectacular, with a career recap, three of our favorite guests, and more, so don’t miss it!
