The real story is that the elephant, Thailand’s national symbol, has been neglected after the birth of a female panda cub at a Bangkok zoo. Since the birth, Thailand has been in panda-monium, and the zookeepers who tend the once proud elephants, decided to take matters into their own hands… by painting the elephants to look like pandas.

The zookeepers were extra offended when the administration approved at 20 million Baht (or $7 (okay really like $600,000)) snow house for the new panda.

Although I have not seen any followup articles in the news, I can assume that this started a slew of species-ism, that can only end in terrible intercage violence.

Quiet, Zookeeper! Project Runway is on.

Michal Grzes, a Polish city concilor was outraged last weekend, by the Poznan Zoo’s acquisition of Ninio, a 10 year old gay Elephant.

We didn’t pay 37 million zlotys ($11 million) for the largest elephant house in Europe to have a gay elephant live there,

We were supposed to have a herd, but as Ninio prefers male friends over females how will he produce offspring?

I want to meet Michal Grzes’s aide, or whoever told him this was a worthy cause.

As it turns out, Ninio might not even be sexual one way or the other yet.  It takes elephants 14 years before they’ve even reached sexual maturity.  According to Zookeepers, he prefers male friends. Which sounds a lot like me when I was 10 and lived in a Polish zoo.
