This morning, NBC announced it was going to bring two old shows back from the dead in a new hip fashion.

Garfield and friends

The new “Garfield and Friends” will follow the old format of  “Garfield and Friends” of two Garfield cartoons sandwiching a different show.  “Orson’s Farm” a cartoon about a pig and other barnyard animals has been replaced with the equally unbearable show “Friends.”  NBC is confident that old fans will still enjoy watching only 7 minutes of “Friends” as opposed to a full 22 minute episode when paired the the comedic styles of Garfield the cat.

When asked why this show was being made, NBC’s spokesman and former baseball player Roger Clemons had this to say:

I’ve always enjoyed watching Garfield but found that the inbetween show didn’t really do it for me.  I decided to pair the new “Garfield and Friends” with another show that also doesn’t appeal to me.  It just makes sense.  Also, that guy on the right sort of looks like a pig.”

“Garfield and Friends” will premier early February 2011.
