I’m still getting through the Amazing Spider-Man comics. I’m now up to #28 (September 1965) and I feel that I should point something out. The number of times that a connection is accidentally made between Peter Parker and Spider-Man is absolutely ridiculous. When Spidey is out of costume and has to interact with normal humans, this seriously happens about once every page and a half. It’s as if I secretly owned a WWII-era submarine, and every six or seven minutes a friend or family member would casually joke about how unlikely it is that I would ever own a WWII-era submarine. As evidence, I submit for your viewing pleasure a panel from #28, featuring a run-of-the-mill conversation following Peter’s high school graduation:

Really? REALLY!??
