When black friday rolls around, and the deals and savings seem to be spilling out for all of those bat shit wacky housewives to get their greedy paws on in the wee hours of the morning, I can’t help but think, “Is this really the beginning of the Christmas season?”

Is it really all about saving that 30 dollars on that over-priced digital camera?  Is it really all about leaving that diner a single minute earlier than “leather jacket lady” to get to whatever Kohl’s has to offer?  I just hate that we have a day (given the name “Black Friday” no less, which means everyone is aware of its evil) where everyone accepts that they much fight others to be able to get the deals so they can afford the most gifts for their families.

But what is worse, is that people actually die on this day while shopping.

Let me repeat that.  PEOPLE ACTUALLY DIE.  CEASE TO BE.  NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY.  Never experience the joy on their kid’s faces when they get that way overpriced electronic gadget that they are destined to lose or break within the next 2 months.  All because they buy into the idea that they need to go out at 4 a.m. or 3 a.m. or even midnight to save some small amount of money.

The Christmas season shouldn’t begin with murder.  It’s shouldn’t begin with people fighting for sales.  It shouldn’t begin with crazy commercials demanding we act insane and get up at 4 in the morning.

The Christmas season should start with something better.  The Christmas season should start with people sleeping in due to a food coma from eating and drinking way too much with family they kind of care about the day before.   So I think you should all sleep in tomorrow and enjoy your day off of work if you have one.

And when you wake up at 11 and see on the news that someone was trampled to death at a Target or a Kohl’s or some other department store, you will be able to see first hand why it is called “Black Friday.”

(Thank goodness someone pushed that box of dicks post down eh?)
