Last Saturday night around 3:00 A.M. central time, Tinz, Mike Norris, Tom Molloy, and I ended up watching Animal Planet.  Specifically, we watched a show called, “Cats 101” which tells you lots of information on various breeds of cats.  The show teaches you great things like: how often you need to brush an Exotic, how to best feed a Persian, and if a Calico is a good family cat.  Here is a random intro to an episode.

However, between these lessons on cats, they feature people who own whatever specific breed of cat they are focusing on.

These people.  Are.  Insane.

"My cat and I just understand each other"

They aren’t just “I live with 5-20 cats” insane, they are more like “I live with 3 cats that inspire me to make art of their faces replacing faces in famous art,” insane.  I’m not kidding, a man actually takes hundreds of pictures of his cats faces and then finds the one that happens to look most like the face in whatever work of art he intends to ruin next, and then photoshops the face onto the artwork.  I looked for half an hour online but couldn’t find that video.  It’s out there though, and if anyone finds it, I would be much obliged.

But here is a video of some other person who is crazy about their cat to the point of artistic inspiration.  The actual segment starts around 2 minutes in.

Or how about this cat?  This cat shreds carpet.  “A nuisance?” you say?  Nope.  Apparently it’s art.  See for yourself in this poorly made video (this is not Cats 101 footage).

Some people even create blogs for their cats.  I’m not sure if this person was on “Cats 101,” but she ought to be.

The point is, there are tons of crazies on “Cats 101” and people need to see them to believe them.  So next time you are awake in the wee hours of the morning, maybe you should watch a few people obsess over their cats.  Or maybe, this post can inspire you to start being more obsessive about your cat!  I know I am going to start printing ties based off of my cat.

Isn't Yawgmoth so beautiful?

But I guess I shouldn’t joke about drawing inspiration from cats.  I am easily the Octavarius member with the most garfield related posts.

That’s it for crazy inspiration.  Play us off, Keyboard cat!
